Il Comandante l’aeroporto di Aviano , Colonnello Pilota SALVATORE LA LUCE visita la sede del AVIANO AB AVIATION FRIENDS GROUP

Lunedì 10 Febbraio 2025, il Colonnello Pilota Salvatore La Luce, Comandante l’aeroporto dell’Aeronautica Militare di Aviano, ospitante il 31st Fighter Wing della U.S. Air Forces Europe - Air Forces Africa, ha voluto dedicare una speciale serata agli “Amici della Base di Aviano”. Nel corso dell’incontro l’illustre ospite ha avuto modo di condividere con i presenti le tappe più significative della propria carriera in Aeronautica fino all’attuale incarico di Comandante l’aeroporto di Aviano, arricchendo il racconto di aneddoti e curiosità. E’ stata inoltre presentata, con una serie di slides preparate dal personale dell’Ufficio Comando Aeroporto dell’Aeronautica, la storia dell’Aeroporto di Aviano, intitolato agli eroi piloti della 1° Guerra Mondiale, Capitano Maurizio Pagliano e Tenente Luigi Gori, dalle origini nel 1911 ai giorni nostri. La visita del Comandante La Luce ha inoltre consentito all’AAFG di mostrare la mole di documentazione e cimeli raccolti nel corso dei 30 e più anni di attività, a testimonianza dell’assidua opera svolta dal sodalizio nella diffusione e condivisione di conoscenza della storia dell’aeroporto e dell’attività svolta dal personale americano ed italiano, ieri ed oggi.

Aviano airport Commander, Colonel Pilot SALVATORE LA LUCE visits the AVIANO AB AVIATION FRIENDS GROUP headquarters

On Monday 10 February 2025, Colonel Pilot Salvatore La Luce, Commander of the Aviano airport of the Aeronautica Militare, hosting the 31st Fighter Wing of the U.S. Air Forces Europe - Air Forces Africa, wished to dedicate a special evening to the "Friends of the Aviano Air Base". During the meeting, the illustrious guest had the opportunity to share with those present the most significant stages of his career in the Aeronautica Militare up to his current role as Commander of the Aviano airport, enriching the story with anecdotes and curiosities. The history of the Aviano Airport, named after the pilot heroes of the First World War, Captain Maurizio Pagliano and Lieutenant Luigi Gori, from its origins in 1911 to the present day was also presented with a series of slides prepared by the staff of the Airport Command Office of the Aeronautica Militare. Commander La Luce’s visit also allowed the AAFG to showcase the mass of documentation and memorabilia collected over the course of 30 or more years of activity, as evidence of the association’s assiduous work in disseminating and sharing knowledge of the airport’s history and the work carried out by American and Italian personnel, yesterday and today.
