Venerdì 10 maggio 2013 si è svolta la cerimonia di cambio Comando del 510th Fighter Squadron
“ Buzzards “ nella Base di Aviano. Il Comandante del 510th Fighter Squadron uscente, il Lt. Col. Michael E. Thompson a restituito il Comando al Comandante del 31st Operation Group Col. David W. Walker, il quale lo ha poi affidato al Comandante subentrante dei “ Buzzards “,Lt. Col. Christopher E. Austin. Il nuovo Comandante era già stato assegnato ad Aviano tra il 2001 e il 2005 come istruttore su F16CG.

510th Fighter Squadron “ Buzzards “ Change of Command ceremony. The Lt. Col. Michael E. Thompson relinquished the Squadron’s Command to Col. David W. Walker, Operation Group Commander. Col. Walker according the tradition of passing the unit flag, which represents the glorious history of the “ Buzzards “, has given the 510th Fighter Squadron Command to the Lt. Col. Christopher E. Ausitn. The new Commander served at Aviano AB from 2001 to 2005, as F16CG Instructor Pilot, Flight Commander.
