RAF LAKENHEATH - June 2, 2015
Some members of the Aviano AB Aviation Friends Group, Tuesday June 2, had the opportunity to access into the RAF Lakenheath, home of the 48th Fighter Wing, for a photo session of the based aircraft. Here’s a selection of the pictures we took. The flying units are in charge to the 48th Operations Group : 492nd Fighter Squadron “Bowlers“ and 494th Fighter Squadron “Panthers“ flying F-15E Strike Eagle, 493rd Fighter Squadron “Reapers” flying F-15C/D Eagle and 56th Rescue Squadron “Friends in low places” flying HH-60G Pave Hawk. In addition the images in flight line and of some Strike Eagles take-off rising towards the cloudy sky, we wanted to take those planes that in the past flew with the “Liberty Wing” colors and a couple of significant monuments in remembrance of what it means to defend by the sky their own country and the free world.
